A lost chapter in the Stan Getz sound of the 60s – an album that features Stan blowing in front of some beautiful backdrops set by Lalo Schifrin and Claus Ogerman! The sound is super mellow – dreamy, but never sleepy – with Stan blowing in these soulful, magical, exploratory lines that sweep and swirl with his best 60s work. The sound is incredible – a whole new level of genius to a player who'd already recorded in so many other strong modes at the time – and titles include "Sleeping Bee", "Nitetime Street", "Early Autumn", "Charade", "Love", and "Reflections".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Any Number Can Win
Verve, 1963. Very Good+ Gatefold
Sessions like this are proof that Jimmy was one of the most fantastic organ players ever – as his work with large arrangements (supplied here by Claus Ogerman) always seems to groove better than his work with small combos. His sound is impeccable, and he soars ahead of the rest of the ... LP, Vinyl record album
