Mr Latin (UK pressing)
CD (Item 83104) WEA (UK), 1962 — Condition: New Copy
An amazing Latin stormer from the early 60s – with a sound that's quite different from the usual charanga-heavy sessions of the time! Rene Bloch leads a nice little orchestra through a lively set of mambos and Latin jazz tracks – in a set that's mostly instrumental overall, and which never fails to groove. The record's got a really unusual feel for the time – as it features electric guitar on many of the tracks, skipping amidst the rhythms with a style that really deepens the grooves nicely, and gives the album a moody edge that we really love! Titles include "Pachanga Terrifica", "Baila Cha Cha", "Encanto", "Mambo Watusi", "Sera Charanga?", "Mr. Latin's Mambo", and "Lamento Latino". (CD features 24 bit remastering.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
