CD (Item 354216) Do Right (Canada), 2004 — Condition: New Copy

A searingly hot Afro Funk combo – and from Montreal, of all places! Afrodizz have a great name and a wicked sound that more than lives up to their moniker – burning with a tight and funky groove that's clearly inspired by Fela's work in the 70s, yet which also has some leaner, more stripped down elements – in keeping with the styles of some of the current Afro Funk groups that have sprung up during the deep funk revival of the past few years. The sound of the set's really great – completely tight, and with great vocals from singer Vance Payne – embraced by a keen cast of saxes, horns, percussion, and lots of choppy guitar! Titles include "Face", "No Time", "Kif Kif", "2nd Rising", and "Assez".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
