LP (Item 22575) Brunswick, 1969 — Condition: Used

One of the best, and one of the rarest albums ever from The Artistics – one of the many great Chicago soul groups to cut albums for Brunswick during their soul glory years! The record's got that loping soul groove that was the stock in trade of The Chi-Lites, and it features production and many original songs by Eugene Record of that group. Harmonies are smooth, but with a rough undercurrent – as in the best work of The Four Tops from the same time. The title cut's a winner, and there's lots of other nice ones like "Walking Tall", "With These Hands", "Why Did She Have To Leave Me", "When I'm Not Around", "Yesterday's Girl", and "Price Of Love". (Cover has light wear, a bit of aging, a small split on the spine, and a cutout hole.)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
