Wonderful World Of Antonio Carlos Jobim

LP, Vinyl record album

A classic set of 60s bossa tracks by Jobim – one of the few albums he recorded during the decade in the US! This one's got backing by Nelson Riddle, and a gentle bossa sound that's in keeping with Jobim's other work from the time. The real treat, though, are Jobim's vocals – as he sings on most of the tracks, and many of them even feature him in English, which is a real delight! Filled with loads of nice cuts, including "Surfboard", "She's A Carioca", "Aqua De Beber", and "Favela". Very nice! (Gold label mono pressing. Cover has some discoloration from age.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Stand!
Epic, 1968. Very Good Gatefold
Hard to find a stronger early album by Sly – as this one has him still funking hard, but also getting his soul bag together a bit more, hitting some really righteous vibes that mix together politics and partying in an incredibly seductive way. The album's filled with anthemic numbers like ... LP, Vinyl record album

Astrud Gilberto Now
Perception, 1972. Near Mint-
Killer work by Astrud Gilberto – very different than her Verve sides of the 60s! The album was produced by Astrud, arranged by Deodato – and has that wonderful warm full jazz feel of her classic album on CTI, but also a bit more like some of the funky work of Jorge Ben at the time ...
