CD (Item 62762) Universal (France), Early 40s — Condition: New Copy

If you've ever needed proof that Paris was a swinging place, dig this set of tunes that show how much the city still hung onto jazz – even under the grip of Nazi domination in the early 40s! The package features tracks by a variety of Parisian groups recorded between the years 1940 and 1944 – a few tracks each, remastered for CD, and packaged together in a way that makes them work well together. Titles include "Douce Georgette" and "L'Oeil Noir" by Joseph Reinhardt, "Loin", and "Chiffon" by Le Quintette Francais, "67 Rue Couperin" and "Elle Et Lui" by Christian Bellest, "Palm Beach" and "Irene" by Andre Ekyan, "Nuit Et Jour" and "Agatha Rhythm" by Dany Kane, and "Star Blues" and "Trop Tot" by Eddie Barclay. 24 tracks in all.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
