Comic Book Heroes
LP (Item 7021) Mainstream, Mid 60s — Condition: Used
Fantastic stuff! The Capes & Masks are actually a crack studio team led by Shorty Rogers and Irving Joseph, and on this LP they lay down some of the most dynamic, crazy instrumental work we've heard in a long time! The theme is Super Hero madness, and the music is very camp, but also very jazzy – and the album has the feel of some of the best "crime" soundtracks – but with excellent production that really isolates groovier instruments like the electric guitar and the vibes. There's a great approach to the whole thing that makes the album come off like a funky soundtrack from the time – mod late 60s grooving, produced to perfection, in the manner of Rogers incredible Dune Buggy project! Titles include "The Apollo Investigation", "The Incredible Shotzam", "The Eagle's Code", "The Man From TANTA", "Agent 00008 Or Section 8", "The Atom Smasher", and "Hey, What Th-". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
