CD (Item 465134) Fania, Late 60s -- Condition: New Copy

Nothing bad here, as the grooves are all totally great -- and pulled from the hardest-hitting side of the New York Latin scene at the end of the 60s! The collection does a great job of mixing together some of the key favorites from the classic Fania catalog with a few other bits that haven't been reissued before -- and together, the tracks work perfectly to serve up that unique blend of soul, funk, and Latin that was going down in the Spanish Harlem scene during these crucial crucial years! Dean Rudland compiled and handled the notes -- and he's definitely at the top of his game here. Collection features 16 tracks in all -- including "Gimme Some Love" by Joe Cuba, "Morris Park" by Lenni Sesar, "Come & Get It" by Ralph Robles, "Bad Breath" by Bobby Valentin, "Mercy Mercy Baby" by Ray Barretto, "King Of Latin Soul" by Joey Pastrana, "Aye Que Rico" by Eddie Palmieri, "Mama's Girl" by King Nando, "Marilu" by George Guzman, "Fever" by La Lupe, "Happy Soul With A Hook" by Dave Cortez & The Moon People, "Camel Walk" by The Latinaires, "What You Mean" by Johnny Colon, "Guajira Con Soul" by Johnny Ventura, "Jumpin With Symphony Sid" by Ray Rodriguez, and "Baby Boo Boogaloo" by Vladimir & His Orchestra.  © 1996-2010, Dusty Groove America, Inc.
