Brooklyn, Bronx & Queens Band (aka BB & Q Band)
LP (Item 15870) Capitol, 1981 — Condition: Used
One of THE 80s groove classics – an excellent album that never gets old! The BB&Q Band had a tight outta site style that was the best small combo 80s version of 70s mainstream funk – sweetly jazzy, thanks to some really spacious production, and filled with lots of hard-stepping guitar, bass, and keyboard bits that propelled the tunes with snappingly catchy rhythms throughout. The group's classic cut "On The Beat" best sums up their appeal – as it's one of those post-disco tunes that gets back to basics, but still really moves the crowd out on the floor. It's got a very catchy hook, as do most of the cuts on the album – and titles include "Don't Say Goodbye", "Starlette", "Time For Love", and "I'll Cut You Loose"!
