A groovy groovy soundtrack from Johnny Williams – scored for a goofy heist film starring Natalie Wood, and featuring a wonderful blend of jazzy, bossa, and harmony-styled tunes! The whole thing's extremely lively – and although Williams is working with a larger orchestra on most of the record, there's also some bouncing electric bass on the bottom of most cuts – and nice use of jazzy solo instruments. The title theme "Penelope" is sung in a sunshine harmony mode by The Pennypipers, a group assembled for the record – and other tracks include "Poolside", "The Girl In The Yellow Dress", "Girl Chase", "The Mad Professor", "Penny's Arcade", and "At The Art Museum". (Yellow label promo. Cover has a small name in pen on front and a crease on one corner.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

An obscure 60s spy soundtrack from Lalo Schifrin – done with a style that's a bit different than some of his other work at the time! There's still a fair bit of the trademark Schifrin elements – bits of jazz, bossa, and Latin touches on the tunes – but there's also a style here ... LP, Vinyl record album
