Mamblues (orig, with Bernard Purdie)
7-inch (Item 591038) Jazzman (UK), 1958/1972 — Condition: New Copy
Two takes on a mod jazz classic – a great number from the legendary Cal Tjader! The first "Mamblues" here is heavy on Latin rhythms – loads of quick percussion that moves on the groove as sweet and soulful as Cal Tjader's great vibes – spurred on by some mighty hot piano as well! The flipside features a funky 70s reworking of the tune – done with great drums from Bernard Purdie, who really brings up the bottom and some Bay Area funk elements in the instrumentation! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
