LP, Vinyl record album

4.50 38

One of Sinatra's last great ballad albums for Capitol – a sad and dreamy batch of tunes that kicks off with the incredible "Only The Lonely" – one of those Sinatra torch songs that's so great, so sad, nobody else has ever been able to record a better version, nor have they really tried! The rest of the album's great, too – with arrangements by Nelson Riddle that are very much in the Wee Small Hours mode, and a selection of tracks that includes "Only The Lonely", "Angel Eyes", "What's New", "Ebb Tide", "Spring Is Here", "Goodbye", and the sublime "One For My Baby". (Rainbow label pressing. Cover has a split bottom seam held with clear tape, splitting on the spine, and a faded name in marker on front.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Nancy – Naturally
Capitol, Late 60s. Very Good+
Nancy grooves nicely in this set of 12 tracks with arrangements by Billy May – and the kind of swinging mix of soul and jazz that graced her best Capitol work of the late 60s. Titles include "Watch What Happens", "Smack Dab In The Middle", "I Wish I Didn't Love You ... LP, Vinyl record album

Broadway My Way
Capitol, 1963. Very Good
A great counterpart to Nancy Wilson's classic Hollywood My Way album for Capitol – and like that one, a classy set of tunes arranged and conducted by Jimmy Jones! A killer from Nancy – very different than most of her earlier work, and proof that she was still growing as an artist on Capitol!
