Birth Of A Guitar Legend – The Jamie Singles Sessions 1957 to 1962 (3CD set)
CD (Item 543927) Jamie, Late 50s/Early 60s — Condition: New Copy
A great, and pretty well complete presentation of the guitar instrumentals the great Duane Eddy cut for Jamie – from his early, pulpy and rawly brilliant recordings with disc jockey turned charismatic producer Lee Hazlewood, to groovy, twangy covers and all kinds of great intsrumentals, fusing R&B and hillbilly styles in a way that became hugely influential for guitarists to come. Disc 1 features rumblin' little scorchers from 1957-1959: "Movin' N' Groovin'", "Rebel-'Rouser", "Ramrod", "The Walker", "Cannonball", "Detour", "Yep!", "The Quiet Three", "First Love, First Tears" and many more. Disc 2 features numbers from 1960: "Bonnie Came Back", "Lost Island", "Shazam!"< "The Secret Seven", "Theme For Moon Children", "Peter Gunn", "Pepe", "The Girl On Death Row" and more. Disc 3 features material from 1961-62: "Gidget Goes Hawaiian", "Ring Of Fire", "The Avenger", "The Battle", "Runaway Pony", "Along Came Linda", "Bobbie", "Trambone" and more. 75 tracks on 3CDs, which nice notes on each single! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
