Dolemite returns, every bit as raw as on his debut – making for another funky feather in the cap of Rudy Ray Moore during the 70s! The album begins with the extended "Return Of Dolemite" piece – one that's almost a manifesto for Rudy's way of life at the time – and the set then follows with some equally great numbers that benefit strongly from backings by the Fillmore St Soul Rebellion, who provided music on other great Rudy Ray Moore albums of the time! The music really makes some of these cuts great – shifting the mood nicely, and throwing in a hip party groove under Rudy's raunchy comedy routines. The set also features the wild "Grunts & Groans Of Love" – plus "Pimpin Roc", "Return of Dolemite", "Thin Thin Dime", and "Rotadius". (Non-gatefold pressing.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Kent, Mid 70s. Very Good+
The tenth album in Rudy Ray Moore's classic 70s run for Kent Records – and every bit as raunchy as the first! Rudy's energy at this point is amazing – a never-ending stream of social commentary, street language, and bad-rapping braggadocio – set to some rough-edged rhythms that ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sensuous Black Man
Kent, Early 70s. Near Mint-
Rudy Ray Moore's classic LP of funky drum breaks and very very explicit descriptions of "the proper way to make love to a lady". The music is slammin', and Rudy Ray Moore's at his worst as he describes different positions, techniques, and approaches to the art of love. This record was ... LP, Vinyl record album

On The Street In Watts
ALA, 1970. Very Good Gatefold
A chilling statement from the west coast scene of the 70s – the first album from The Watts Prophets, the ultra-powerful group who emerged from the LA turmoil of the 60s. Like the Last Poets, the group blends together righteous spoken word passages and some spare rhythms and a touch of jazz ... LP, Vinyl record album

Solid State, 1969. Very Good Gatefold
Stone lost Latin funk! This one's Candido's rarest – and it's a killer batch of conga-heavy grooves, recorded in the late 60s for Solid State, and featuring a very groovy set of mod Latin arrangements by Joe Cain. The band features organ, guitar, bass, horns, and some upfront conga solos ... LP, Vinyl record album
