Ogden's Nut Gone Flake (3CD set)

Add Item to Want List
CD (Item 611870) Immediate/Snapper (UK), 1968 — Condition: New Copy

The original mono version of the Small Faces classic – plus a disc full of previously unreleased versions – and the full stereo version in a 3CD box set! On it's own, this is simply one of the best Brit psychedelic rock albums of the late 60s – one that sounds incredible to this day! On Ogden's Nut Gone Flake the group really found a way to spin a heady, organ rich, drum heavy, and all around big sound into the structure of the 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 minute pop structure – without sacrificing a bit of the bombast, or burying a genuine groove in superfluous noise cycles. Truly wonderful stuff – we'll listen to this more often than Sgt. Peppers in our lifetime! Tracks include "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake", "Afterglow Of Your Love", "Long Ago And World's Apart", "Rene", "Lazy Sunday", "Rollin' Over", "The Journey", "Mad John", "Happydaystoytown" and more. Disc One features the mono mix and Disc Three features the stereo mix. The Disc Two bonus material includes "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake (Early Session Version-Mono)", "Bun In The Oven (Early Session Version – Mono)", "Happiness Stan (Backing Track – Mono)", "The Fly (Take 4 – Instrumental Version – Stereo)"Every Little Bit Hurts (Ear Session Mix – Mono)" and more. 38 tracks on 3CDs. (Official Small Faces Re-Masters series. Comes in a great little round cardboard package – modeled after vintage tobacco boxes. )  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
