One of the nicer albums from a period when Nancy was experimenting with a style that was a lot more overblown and sophisticated than that on some of her earlier pop hits. The record's kind of of a more soulful take on late Reprise Sinatra styles – with large arrangements by James Mack that expand the tracks into tiny little pop symphonies filled with a lot of emotion. However, Phil Wright also gets in a few arrangements – on the more stripped-down groovy soul covers like "If I Were Your Woman" and "Ain't No Sunshine". Whatever the case, though, Nancy makes the album a nice one – even on tracks like "The Greatest Performance Of My Life", "Once In My Lifetime", "Middle Of the Road", and "I'll Get Along Somehow".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Like In Love
Capitol, Mid 60s. Near Mint-
A nice early one by Nancy, and a record that shows her roots as a jazz singer, by pairing her lovely voice with swinging arrangements by Billy May. The tracks are mostly standards, but Nancy gives them a nice 60s pop twist, and keeps things nice and sexy with her sultry voice. Titles include ... LP, Vinyl record album

A wonderful bit of pop vocal work from Tommy Edwards – precursor to some of the smoother male soul singers of the 60s, and done in a round and warm style that we really love!
