An excellent album of sweet and lovely piano tunes – composed and performed by Peter Nero, with a swinging jazzy sound that's very much in keeping with mid 60s Mancini! The theme alone is worth the price of admission – performed here with a nice strong lead piano, and jazzy orchestrations in the background – but the rest of the album's equally good, especially if you (like us) dig piano and strings sessions! Some of the best work that Nero ever recorded – with tracks that include "Sunday In New York", "Taxi", "Hello", "The Cookie Crumbles", "The Philosopher", and "On Frantic Fifth".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Not as famous as other Henry Mancini soundtracks of the 60s – but a gem through and through, and a record that really shows the maturing talents of the maestro! The album mixes together lush orchestrations with some of the lighter jazz you'd expect from Mancini – the latter a nice ... LP, Vinyl record album

Henry Mancini's second album of stuff for the Peter Gunn TV show, and arguably better than the first one! The album's straight-ahead crime jazz – performed by a great set of players that includes Plas Johnson, Shelly Manne, Ted Nash, Paul Horn, and other west coasters. Tracks include "M ... Over the years, how many films have been made about this guy anyway? We've never seen the movie, but the record's a gem – some very edgy scoring by Pete Rugolo, the ex-Kenton arranger who went on to do some great crime jazz work for a number of labels. This work isn't exactly in that style, ... LP, Vinyl record album

A very cool set of tracks written by Ustad Vilayat Khan – for this early Merchant-Ivory production that starred Rita Tushingham and Michael York. The film was one of the biggest porno success stories of the 70s – but the music isn't all that sexy! A wonderful batch of jazzy instrumentals – and one of our favorite soundtracks ever from George Duning!
