Carlos proves to the world that he's still got his jazz chops in the right direction – even during his stardom of the mid 70s – and he's working here with a group that mixes avant players like Coltrane, Jack DeJohnnette, and Dave Holland, and funkier players like Jules Broussard and Armando Peraza. The tracks are spacey meditation jams – sometimes quite out, sometimes mellow and soulful – and titles include "Guru Sri Chinmoy Aphorism – Angel Of Air", "Angel Of Water", "Angel Of Sunlight", and "Illuminations". Sublime early 70s work from Jimmy Heath – a record that shows that he was really stretching out with a new sound in the decade – even away from his better-known sides with The Heath Brothers! Jimmy plays tenor, flute, and soprano sax beautifully on the record – with a tone that's ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of the few rare albums cut by this great LA-based soul jazz pianist! Harold's first two featured his highly percussive sextet, but this one's got Harold solo as the leader, with backing by a group that includes Woody "Fats" Theus on conga, and Daniel Ramos on guitar. Johnson's piano ... LP, Vinyl record album
