CD (Item 614573) Groovie (Spain), 1960s/1970s — Condition: New Copy

There's a good chance that most of these tunes never spent any time in the jungle – given the amount of fuzz on the record – because none of the bands would have had anywhere to plug in their amps! But that hardly stops the set from being a great one – as it's a treasure trove of rare Brazilian psyche from the end of the 60s – kind of a maturation of the Jovem Guarda style of a few years before – and one that has the Brazilian groups moving past simple copycat rock and roll, into some rich territory of their own! The package is a nice look at the more straightforward sounds coming out during the Tropicalia generation – and comes with a nice set of notes on the artists involved. Titles include "I'm Not Talking" by The Galaxies, "Viagem No Tempo" by Quarteto Nova Era, "Bobo Nao Sou" by Avanco 5, "Decisao" by Brazilian Bitles, "Deixe Me" by Blow Up, "Nao Sei" by Sonny Delane, and "A Fuga" by Os 5 Jotas.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
