A cooking little mix of classic work from the Fania Records catalog – served up by resident Miami DJ Le Spam – a mixer who really knows his grooves! The styles here are a bit different than on some of the other Fania collections – a bit more tumbao and Latin jazz, as well as a bit of salsa too – mostly with Spanish language lyrics in the lead, but also a fair bit of jazzy soloing too. The mix leaves most tracks relatively discreet, but creates a wonderful flow between the numbers – and titles include "Para Gozar Belen" by Jimmy Sabater, "Satellite" by Ismael Rivera, "Mayeya" by Sonora Poncena, "Latin Roots" by Larry Harlow, "Sandstorm" by Charlie Palmieri, "Con Los Pobres Estoy" by Roberto Roena, "Si Quieres Bailar" by Pete El Conde Rodriguez, "O Mi Shango" by Mongo Santamaria, "Merecumbe" by Johnny Colon, and "Mi Mambo Son" by Gilberto Sextet – plus a few interludes by Symphony Sid.
