Killer stuff from this legendary Philly instrumental combo – and a lot harder to find in good shape than you might think from the number of copies that were sold in the 70s! Bobby Martin arranged almost every track – and the record's a great example of the kind of lean and mean Philly groove that he had going at the time, a groove that was hard to beat, and hard to copy without sounding silly and overblown. Includes classics like "K-Jee", "MFSB", "TLC", and "Let's Go Disco". (Cover has some wear, aging, a couple of stains, and an unglued bottom seam.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Philadelphia International, 1977. Very Good-
Brilliant work from Philly arranger Dexter Wansel – an album that moves the focus back to soul a bit more than on his Life On Mars set, but which also keeps in plenty of jazzy touches! Dexter's groove here is similar to the best work he did with other Philly vocalists in the same time – ... LP, Vinyl record album

A half dozen great soul and dance cuts from the label that dominated commercial R&B throughout the latter half of the 70s: "Love Is The Message" and "Mysteries Of The World" by MFSB, "For The Love Of Money" by the O'Jays, "Breaking & Entering" by Dee ... LP, Vinyl record album

The O'Jays keep on going strong – hitting a smooth mellow Philly vibe that takes them away from the style of their mid 70s hits! The sound here is a bit more uptempo than on the previous album So Full Off Love – but the group are still also really using the time to explore their ... LP, Vinyl record album

Philadelphia International, 1970. Very Good
An amazing early album from Billy Paul – the start of a rich career of sophisticated soul, and a record that really put Paul on the map right away – making him one of the most soulful interpreters of song in the 70s! There's a mix of modes going on here that's a bit similar to the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Here Where There Is Love
Scepter, 1967. Very Good
Dionne Warwick's missing from the cover of this album, but the record still managed to be one of her biggest of the 60s – thanks to a near-classic selection of tunes, and sublime arrangements from the mighty Burt Bacharach! There's a confident, mature approach to the record that's arguably ... LP, Vinyl record album
