An early 80s mix of lovers rock and post-disco soul by Tyrone Evans – the lone cosmic soul-styled jam on Tyrone's For Lovers Only album for the Wackies label in '83 – paired with a stellar, all new cover by Greenwood Rhythm Coalition on the flip! The Evans original has a nice uptempo funky rhythm & bass line, with some cosmic keys, and a cool array of percussion – with lyrics making a plea to rise up after sitting too long – and given how profoundly this track takes on a unique, though effective mix of styles, you can fairly assume that it's a statement of creative freedom!
