Prime material from Cannonball and David Axelrod – and despite the biblical leanings of the title, the record is pretty darn funky! As they did for the Zodiac, Cannonball and Adderley take a trip through a host of cultural milestones – stopping along the way to turn each one into a new pillar of soul, working with Rick Holmes, who narrates the set in the same way he did on the Zodiac albums. Brother Nat Adderley and George Duke are among the players in the album's very funky backing – and tracks include "Make Your Own Temple", "Amani", "Space Spiritual", "Eternal Walk", and "Gone". Oh for the days of the double LP concept jazz record! (Original pressing. Cover has a cutout hole, ring & edge wear, and clear tape on the seams.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Lush Side Of Cannonball
EmArcy, Late 50s. Very Good
A wonderfully mellow set of ballads recorded by Cannonball, with orchestral backings by Richard Hayman. The album's typical of the kind of "all over the map" approach that Mercury used during Cannon's early years – before he'd settled down into the one-man soul jazz factory he ... Cannonball Adderley Live!
Capitol, 1964. Very Good
Cannonball Adderley with David Axelrod production – a combination that couldn't miss back in the 60s! Soul Zodiac
Capitol, 1972. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
One of the coolest, baddest, funkiest albums Cannonball Adderley ever recorded – a massive suite of tunes based on the signs of the Zodiac, produced to perfection by David Axelrod, and featuring some hip recitations from the mighty Rick Holmes! The double-length set is completely compelling ... LP, Vinyl record album

Comin' Through
Capitol, 1977. Very Good-
Sweet smooth and funky work from Eddie Henderson – a nice move from his more righteous work of the mid 70s, into an R&B-tinged sound that would take him far in years to come! The sound is surprisingly great, and still pretty darn righteous – thanks to some great production by Skip ... LP, Vinyl record album

Talented Touch
Capitol, 1958. Sealed
The title certainly gets it right – as the album's an early showcase for the piano of Hank Jones – a talented touch that's already able to rise above most of his contemporaries! The date's a trio outing, and Jones is allowed a bit more freedom than the usual jazz musician on Capitol at ... LP, Vinyl record album
