This Is The Night For Love
CD (Item 478625) Keen/VSOP, 1957/1958 — Condition: New Copy
Great doo wop from the LA scene of the late 50s – from a group who could be sweet one minute, rocking the next! The work was produced by the legendary Bumps Blackwell, and there's almost a Specialty Records sort of feel to it – especially on the uptempo tracks that romp along like some of the more famous male singers under Blackwell's direction. As with other VSOP reissues of work like this, there's a very compelling historical aspect to the reissue – one that has the master versions of 8 tunes presented first, followed by "session" versions – often much longer, with alternate takes on the music, words from the control booth, and anything else that was caught on tape. Titles include "Frieda Frieda", "This Is The Night For Love", "Good Golly Miss Molly", "Please Wait My Love", "We Knew", and "Walkin Girl". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
