Jose Jimenez (part 1)/Summertime
7-inch (Item 614338) Wildcat/Drop Shadow, 1960s — Condition: New Copy
Rare Tejano R&B from The Wetbacks – a knowingly seedy number if there ever was one – backed by "Summertime" by the Spot Barnett Orchestra – rare tracks issued on San Antonio's Wildcat label and paired up on this great single courtesy Drop Shadow Records! "Jose Jimenez (Part 1)" has a loose, dusty Tex-Mex guitar groove, shout-along vocals and really walloping drums! It peaks with some great interplay between the sax and guitar. "Summertime" is a nice take on the George Gershwin classic with a loose, but killer groove by the Spot Barnett Orchestra. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | ||||||
