O Violao E O Samba
CD (Item 606672) Odeon/EMI (Brazil), 1962 — Condition: New Copy
An early gem from Luiz Bonfa – one of the first really strong albums from this master of Brazilian guitar! The music is quite lively, without the sleepy quality that you find on some of Bonfa's other records – and Luiz' guitar is backed by a nice little combo that really keeps up to his speed – not entirely bossa jazz, but still with a similar feel! Tracks have a lively rhythm, with occasional vocals, and some nice flute solos from time to time – and the whole thing sounds a bit like an early Baden Powell session – with a clarity and brilliance throughout. Titles include "Amor Em Brasilia", "Amor De Solidao", "Murmurio", "Inquietacao", "Voce Chegou Sorrindo", and "Saudade De Bahia". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
