A strange, yet cool little record from Terry Melcher! Melcher was the consummate LA hipster – the son of Doris Day, a friend of Brian Wilson, and allegedly the real target of The Manson Family when Sharon Tate was knocked off – that's a whole heck of a lot of 60s and 70s baggage – but he's a pretty terrific artist who deserves some more praise to go with all the notoriety! This obscure set from the mid 70s is a perfect set of desperado pop – country-tinged tunes in kind of a Graham Parsons/late Byrds sort of way, with so-Cal C&W tunes written by Melcher and Lee Hazelwood!
