LP (Item 533559) Heavy Light/Light In The Attic, 1975 — Condition: New Copy

A lost bit of Chicano funk from the Texas scene of the early 70s – brilliantly put together, and with a sound that's unlike anything else we can think of! The all-instrumental album has a quality that's only a bit like more familiar Chicano grooves from the west coast – and almost nothing like other Tex/Mex work of the period – a vibe that's as stretched-out and expressive as some small label rock albums of the time – but with a sound that's pure funk all the way through! Instrumentation is heavy on guitars, over chugging rhythms – but there's also a few weird moogy moments, too – which makes for a cool tripped-out sound we never would have expected. The reissue is beautifully done – with a full tip-on style jacket, and a color insert with full notes on the project, too. Titles include "Do La Dog", "Melancolia", "Going Home", "Rockin Rul", "Journey Of The Mind", "Foot Stomper", "Juan Tutri 10pm", and "Work Your Hand To The Bone". (Numbered edition of 1000 copies!)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
