A lost bit of Chicano funk from the Texas scene of the early 70s – brilliantly put together, and with a sound that's unlike anything else we can think of! The all-instrumental album has a quality that's only a bit like more familiar Chicano grooves from the west coast – and almost nothing like other Tex/Mex work of the period – a vibe that's as stretched-out and expressive as some small label rock albums of the time – but with a sound that's pure funk all the way through! Instrumentation is heavy on guitars, over chugging rhythms – but there's also a few weird moogy moments, too – which makes for a cool tripped-out sound we never would have expected. The reissue is beautifully done – with a full tip-on style jacket, and a color insert with full notes on the project, too.
