Figure & Spirit
LP (Item 378225) Progressive, 1976 — Condition: Used
A wonderful mid 70s side from Konitz, joined here by a lithe quintet that features Ted Brown on tenor, and Rufus Rei, Albert Dailey and Joe Chambers in the rhythm section. Konitz plays both soprano and alto here, his coolly lyrical playing and warm tone sounding as great as ever on a set of originals by Konitz and Brown, with one Tristano number, too: "Figure & Spirit", "Dream Stepper", "Smog Eyes", 'April", "Featherbed" and "Dig It". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
