Alento
CD (Item 556330) Biscoito Fino (Brazil), 2010 — Condition: New Copy
One of the more atmospheric recordings we've heard from Paulo Moura in recent years – a set that has the Brazilian clarinetist working with a "theater of sound" – a small combo that features keyboards, flute, and some mighty nice percussion! Moura's reeds are nicely snakey – arcing out in ways that almost have a 70s ECM quality, which is different than usual – and the mix of acoustic percussion and light keys is also similarly ECM-ish – even though the record's got a slightly different production style overall. Titles include "Oju Oba", "Mulatas E Etc", "Mantra Do Rio", "De Volta A Alexandria", and "Road Movie". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
