In The Mouth – A Hand
LP (Item 614570) Rune Grammafon (Germany), 2012 — Condition: New Copy
Plenty of fire here – thanks to tight work by an ensemble that features Mats Gustafsson on tenor, Fender Rhodes, and organ – plus live electronics as well – plus heavy bass from Johan Berthling and drums from Andreas Werliin – topped with fuzzy guitar from Oren Ambarchi, who joins the group for this date! Overall, the album's one of the heaviest we've ever heard from Fire – still with some of the improv leanings that you'd expect from Gustafsson, but also really making bold use of the bass and guitar to up the fuzz, and ramp up the rhythmic quotient of the record too. Tracks are long, and titles include "A Man Who Might Have Been Screaming", "Possibly She Was One Or Had Been One Before", "He Wants To Sleep In A Dream", and "And The Stories Will Flood Your Satisfaction". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
