The hippest set so far in this totally groovy series – a massive batch of rare grooves from 70s Poland, amazingly funky work that you'd never hope to find on this side of the Atlantic! Given the stories we all got about Soviet repression back in the day, it's amazing to hear music this all-out free and funky – a really wicked batch of hard-riffing, tight-jamming groovers that take off in some great new directions from American funk and soul! There's often a funky fusion component to the instrumentation, yet lots of the tracks feature vocals as well – usually in English, too – and there's a nicely offbeat feel to the collection which keeps things super-fresh – a wonderful change if you've dug all there is to dig on the American scene, and are looking for new sounds like this.
