Americanization Of Emily
LP (Item 55580) Reprise, 1964 — Condition: Used
One of those soundtracks that outlived the life of the film – or at least the theme did! "Emily" is one of the best ballads to be penned in the 60s – a dreamy number offered up here in a number of different ways by Johnny Mandel – with strings, reeds, and in larger orchestral passages. The work is very similar to Mandel's sublime score for The Sandpiper – another film that had a hugely popular theme, but which kind of tanked as a cinematic outing! Titles include "The Next Day", "Condolence Call", "Surprise", "Tea Party", and "Vacation In Sussex". (White label promo. Cover has masking tape on the top and bottom seams, and a bit of light tape on the spine.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
