A massive second set of grooves in the Ultimate Breaks & Beats series -- new versions of 70s soul and funk classics originally used to great fame as samples in old school hip hop tracks! The music has a sound that's a lot tighter than our description -- a sock-solid groove that comes from live, small combo instrumentation -- handled here by Mr Chop and a host of hip UK musicians! The drums are plenty heavy throughout -- breaking hard in the way you'd want with these old school cuts -- and if anything, the instrumentation's even leaner than the original recordings -- especially since these versions don't have any vocals at all, which makes for a core focus on the best sample-heavy elements of the tunes.
