CD (Item 598033) Disques Cinemusique (Canada), 1959/1960 — Condition: New Copy

Wonderful early work from French composer Georges Delerue – a collection of his first six 45rpm soundtrack records – originally issued on 7" vinyl, which was the dominant form for French soundtrack releases in the 50s and 60s! The package really captures the early brilliance of Delerue in a range of settings – from the jazzy score to Le Bel Age, done with Alan Gouraguer and featuring a lot of great vibes – to the warmer, more sentimental modes of Une Fille Pour L'Ete – to the tense, slow-building sounds of Marche Ou Creve – and the playful whimsy of Les Jeux De L'Amour! Each film is represented by all the tracks which originally appeared on the 7" records – and the CD features music from the movies Le Bel Age, Une Fille Pour L'Ete, Marche Ou Creve, Les Jeux De L'Amour, Le Farceur, and Une Aussi Longue Absence.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
