Moody magic from the great John Barry – a little-heard soundtrack for a late 60s Michael Caine thriller! Barry's working here in a style that's tense and evocative – mostly orchestral, but with solo guitar on many tracks stepping out front – setting the mood as Barry's orchestrations clatter around with the tightly-strung approach of his best work for the James Bond films! The score kicks off with a striking Shirley Bassey number called "My Love Has Two Faces" – and other titles include "The Meeting", "Statue Dance", "The Last Deadfall", and "Romance For Guitar & Orchestra". King Kong

John Barry's music for the blockbuster 1976 remake of King Kong – surprisingly sensitive at points, given the action on the screen of the film! Valley Of The Dolls
20th Century, 1967. Very Good
A great soundtrack – as campy as the film it was written for! Some of the tunes are more straight numbers by Johnny Williams – a bit dreamy, but with some nice easy touches – but the best tunes are the swinging vocal numbers, like "Give A Little More", "Come Live ... LP, Vinyl record album

A pretty nice Andre Previn soundtrack for this late Billy Wilder film that starred Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau – plus the young Judi West, who sings a version of "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To" on the album. Well, the soundtrack's not one of Quincy's funkiest, but it does include some nice moments – especially on some of the more African-inflected numbers. Features performances from James Cleveland, Letta Mbulu, and Bill Summers – and tracks include "Many Rains", "Free At ... LP, Vinyl record album

Warner, 1965. Near Mint-
A very strange soundtrack from Andre Previn! The film is an obscure Natalie Wood vehicle – about an actress in Hollywood of the 30s – and it appears that Wood is the vocalist on the album's few numbers with lyrics, written by Andre with the help of Dory Previn, making the set one of ... One of our favorite soundtracks ever – a jazzy swinging ode to love found and love lost – all penned by the legendary Michel Legrand!
