CD (Item 440655) Melting Pot (Germany), 2006 -- Condition: New Copy

Tremendously funky grooves from Melting Pot Music -- easily one of the hippest labels going at the moment! The Melting Pot approach to funk isn't the conventional one -- as most of the tracks here are constructed from older records -- cut into bits and pasted, looped, and otherwise re-assembled in new tunes with an incredibly funky feel! There's plenty of heavy drums, scratchy guitar, blasting horns, and other old funk elements -- and even though the final tune often isn't produced by live instrumentation, there's definitely a fair bit of it in the history of the samples! CD brings together a whopping 15 cuts from Melting Pot -- including a number of their hard to find and limited edition singles. Titles include "The Go Off" by Le Scratchfunk, "The Mexican (radio)" by Marc Hype & Jim Dunloop, "Lovebug" by DJ Day, "Search Song" by Upskiboo, "Soul Summer" by Soul Scapes, "Chicago" by A-Ko, "No Groove Where I Come From" by Kutiman, "Bike Ryder" by Phobos Peepl, "Gone Bad" by DJ Day, "On The Run" by Imperial Breed, "Meet Me At The Roosevelt" by Hawkeye, "Planet Rock (part 1)" by Breakout, and "Watching Sleazy UFOs Pass By" by Devil McDoom.  © 1996-2010, Dusty Groove America, Inc.
