Two For The Seesaw
LP (Item 391986) United Artists, 1962 — Condition: Used
A gently jazzy score by Andre Previn – written for this Robert Wise film that starred an aging Robert Mitchum and a young Shirley MacLaine! The feel here is often sad, and a bit dreamy – scored with that "serious" early 60s style that showed up in New York TV dramas a fair bit, but also played with some nice jazzy solo touches – including alto by Ronald Lang, trombone by Dick Nash, and trumpet by Uon Rasey. A few tunes are a bit more upbeat, and Jackie Cain sings the lyrics to the title song "Song From Two For The Seesaw". Other tracks include "Two For The Twist", "Empty Bed", "He Saw She Saw", "I'm Sick", "Salty Sophie", and "Everybody's Got A Radio". (Original pressing. Cover has a small ink stamp on the back.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
