This overstuffed set brings together Jackie Wilson's Merry Christmas album from 1963 -- originally recorded for Brunswick -- and Al Green's The Christmas Album, recorded 20 years later for Hi Records. Both records feature a fairly standard set of Christmas carols -- like "Silent Night", "White Christmas", "Winter Wonderland", "Jingle Bells", "Silver Bells", "O Holy Night", "I'll Be Home For Christmas", and "The Christmas Song" -- but they're done in a very nice style that's very much in keeping with the soulful talents of Jackie and Al.
