Sensacional Soul Vol 3 – – Spanish Soul Stompers 1966 to 1976Various
LP (Item 605256) Vampi Soul (Spain), Late 60s/Early 70s — Condition: New Copy
If there's one thing we've learned over the years, it's that soul music can come from anywhere – as you'll hear in this amazing collection of grooves from the Spanish scene of the late 60s and early 70s! The artists here take plenty of inspiration from American artists of the 60s – not just mainstream soul, but some earlier strands of R&B, bits of nascent funk, and even some grittier garagey touches too – all wrapped up into a really unique sort of sound – not just because of the Spanish language lyrics, but also because of the way these guys are grabbing what they want from our scene, and making it into a whole new groove in the process! And although this one's the third volume in the series, it may well be the best so far – really amazing music we might never have heard otherwise – with tracks that include "Ya Ves Ya Ves Ya Ves" by David Lara, "Beggar For Your Lovin" by The Explosion, "Mentirosa" by Los Kifers, "Africa" by Lone Star, "Arbol Sin Raiz" by Los Goya, "Wello Wello Wap" by Nico, "Sonando" by Los Mitos, "What Can I Do For You" by Canarios, "Superman" by Larry Wald, "Eh Tu Loca marabu" by Los Go Go, "Stop" by Nelo Costa, and "Un Poco De Carino" by Els 5 Xics. 2LPs, great notes, and a huge amount of music! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
