Don't Take It Personal (with bonus tracks)
CD (Item 608788) Arista/FTG, 1989 — Condition: New Copy
A sweet set of grooves that hit right on the money for Jermaine Jackson in the late 80s! There's a nice, tightly grooving sound with bit of punch in the production – but never too over the top – a mix of uptempo numbers and a strong couple of ballads, too. Kashif handles some of the best tracks here, and you can really hear his hitmaking approach at work – and other tracks feature production by David Z, Preston Glass, and Dennis Lambert – a well-rounded batch of folks who keep the sound nicely varied. Jermaine's vocals are stronger and more adaptable than we remembered him in this period, working just as strongly on the dancefloor ready tracks as he does on the more intimate jams. Titles include "Don't Take It Personal", "Climb Out", "I'd Like To Get To Know You", "Two Ships", "Feel The Need", "Rise To The Occasion", "Next To You", the Miki Howard duet "Make It Easy On Love", "Don't Make Me Wait". This FTG edition features a 6 bonus mixes and alternate versions: "Don't Take It Personal (Extented Version)". "Don't Take It Personal (Jazzy Instrumental)", "I'd Like To Get To Know You (7" Version)", "Two Ships (In The Night) (Extended Version)" and 2 more! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
