Beautiful harmony soul! Skip and the Casuals were one of the great lost groups of the 70s – and they had a classic style that was very much in keeping with groups like Soul Generation or The Whatnauts. The band hailed from Washington DC, making them one of the southernmost outposts of the east coast harmony scene – but their overall feel is pure New Jersey or Philly group soul of the time. This album is their second, and has the group singing in a style that's even tighter and stronger than their first – working with some great arrangements by James Purdie, which include some nice use of vibes by the legendary Hilton Felton! Tracks include "Land Of Love", "Bless My Soul", "I Love You", "Running Away From Love", and "This is My Last Time".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

An incredible late 50s set for King by singer Lula Reed – and a pretty unique blend of R&B and bluer and moodier material – but a lot more upbeat than you'd expect from the title! Lula's voice is a genuine vessel for the bluesy material, but it's also light and lovely, and works ... LP, Vinyl record album

A great little album from Roy Ayers' early years with Polygram – often overlooked amidst some of the bigger records in the catalog, but a very soulful set that's got some wonderful funky numbers! A landmark bit of jazz funk – from one of the greatest backup groups of the 70s! Seminal sounds from Son Palenque – one of the funkiest, earthiest groups to ever come from the Colombian scene – and an ensemble who draw so much inspiration from African styles, they've really found a musical bridge across the Atlantic!
