Barry Miles is riding the Sky Train – and at a pretty fast clip too, given the jamming energy of this record! The album's one of Miles' most full-on fusion sets – but it's also one of his most soulful as well, thanks to strong use of horns on most numbers – with players like Randy Brecker, Tom Harrell, and Jim Buffington really warming things up. Eric Kloss is in the core group alongside Miles keyboards – and his work on alto sax is a treasure – filled with feeling, even at a fast clip – and sweetly soulful on some of the mellower numbers too.
