Look Of Love & The Sounds Of Laurindo Almeida

A very groovy album by Laurindo Almeida – one of his best bossa cookers in a swinging 60s mode! The album features lots of great acoustic guitar from Laurindo, but spun over fuller arrangements by Lex De Azvedo, Clare Fischer, and Dick Grove – all of whom get that right sort of jaunty, breezy style to really showcase the evolution of the bossa on the west coast scene of the 60s! Production is great – handled by Lex – and really still lets the gentle acoustic guitar step out in front of the rest of the group – on groovy titles that include "The Look Of Love", "Windy", "I Love You", "When I Look In Your Eyes", "A Beautiful Friendship", and "Alfie".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
