Nice spare bossa organ groovers, recorded by Walter in Brazil, but released here by Tower on the heels of his bit hit albums on Verve! The tracks have a groovy sound to them, with some nice guitar and sax interplay over the organ. Titles include "Murmurio", "Girl From Ipanema", "Ze From Conceicao", "Airplane Samba", and "Samba On The Beach". Great stuff, and not reissued elsewhere! (Mono pressing.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

One of our favorite albums ever from Walter Wanderley – a set that's much more complicated than his earlier trio records for Verve – and which really expands the sound with a host of added elements! An album that not only broke the bossa big in the US – but a set that also really helped transform the sound of the organ in jazz! Excellent work from Flora Purim – one of the wonderful west coast bits of Braziliana recorded in the Fantasy Records studios during the mid 70s! Fantasy, 1974. Very Good Gatefold
Not the band's first album – as you might think from the "start" in the title – but a classic batch of jazzy, funky, and soulful grooves from The Blackbyrds – one of those combos that few groups could match back in the 70s! The set's got a beautifully put-together feel ... LP, Vinyl record album
