CD (Item 81415) El/Cinevox (UK), Late 60s/Early 70s — Condition: New Copy

Moody magic from the movie maestro – a wonderful collection of tunes that show the trippier side of Morricone's genius! The set features 15 numbers from the late 60s and early 70s – all pulled from the Cinevox catalog, and all put together with a sound that very much lives up to the evocative Psichedelico Jazzistico title! The tunes on the set aren't necessarily some of Morricone's darkest – but they also aren't some of his grooviest either – and the bossa-inflected overtones that normally dominate such compilations are put aside in favor of work that has odder instrumentation, strange production, and unusual arranging twists and turns. Titles include "Sauna", "4 Mosche Di Vellato Grigio", "Plume Di Cristallo", "L'Assoluto Naturale", "Uno Che Grida Amore", "Come Un Madrigale", and "Terazza".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
