David & Jonathan
CD (Item 414090) RPM (UK), Mid 60s — Condition: New Copy
Early 60s pop from David & Jonathan – a pair who were really songwriting duo Roger Cook & Roger Greenaway, working here under different names as performers! The style here is sweet, sometimes folk-inflected pop – similar to Chad & Jeremy's best from the time, and often produced by George Martin with some wonderful studio touches that only improves upon the well-penned tunes. Tracks include a number of original versions of tracks that went onto be much bigger hits for other artists – and as usual with the RPM label, the notes are filled with great information and vintage photos that only further illuminate the tunes! 25 titles in all – including "Penthouse", "Magic Book", "Time", "I Know", "This Golden Ring", "Green Grass", "Gilly Gilly Ossenfeffer Katzennellenbogen By The Sea", "Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart", and "Turn Around & Start Again". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
