One of the darkest records we've heard to date from Lenine – as if you couldn't guess from the title! Lenine's an artist who always grabs our ear – easily one of the most impressive song stylists in Brazil over the past decade or so – and like some of his best contemporaries, a singer who also really knows how to use the studio as his key instrument! This time around, the groove is much more dissipated than before – gentler moments that are almost unexpected, and a few others that have this bubbling up kind of quality – a real change from the more rhythmic approach previously used on other records. Acoustic guitar is used in some especially nice ways, really giving the record an earthy soul that helps us find a whole new level in Lenine's music – and titles include "Malvadeza", "Chao", "Amor E Pra Quem Ama", "Uma Cancao E So", "Envergo Mas Nao Quebro", and "Isso E So O Comeco". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
