LP (Item 42980) MGM, Early 70s — Condition: Very Good+
Not one of Stan's greatest albums, but one that's got some pretty wonderful moments! The album features larger arrangements by Richard Hewson, set to production by George Martin – done in an easy jazzy style, with Stan out front on lead solo, blowing in a mellow way, as he did on albums of the sort done for Verve in the late 60s. A few of the tracks are a bit sleepy, but there's some well-chosen pop tunes that provide a whole new vehicle for Getz's always-great tone. Titles include "Without Her", "Cecilia", "Marrakesh Express", "The April Fools", and "Raindrops Keep Fallin On My Head". (Cover has some wear.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | ||||||
